The Green Bay Packers kept their staff pretty much the same after failing to make the playoffs last season. An insider think the Packers could fire one of their coaches before the end of the season if the team struggles out of the gate.
The Packers’ offensive will look new this year, with Jordan Love becoming the full-time starter. The offense could take a month or two to gel. In the meantime, the Packers will rely on their defense to win games.
The defense should be good this season. They’ve had a strong start in OTAs and started training camp. However, the Packers’ defense has been predicted to be pretty good in the past few preseasons. And the defense hasn’t lived up to expectations.
Green Bay Packers insider thinks Joe Barry could be fired soon

Many Packers fans have wanted defensive coordinator Joe Barry to be fired. However, head coach Matt LaFleur has defended Barry. Bill Huber with Sports Illustrated thinks the dynamic between Barry and LaFleur could change this season.
Huber thinks Barry is entering the hot seat this season and predicted he could be fired by the end of the season:
“Defensive coordinator Joe Barry perhaps should have been fired after his unit gave up a million rushing yards against the Eagles in late November. LaFleur stood by Barry and watched the defense almost propel them into the playoffs. However, that strong finish comes with an asterisk as big as the new Lambeau Field scoreboards.”
Barry will have to prove he can lead the defense. The Packers should know early in the season if Barry has a better grasp of playcalling duties on defense this season. If not, LaFleur should decide quickly to move on from Barry so the Packers can search for a quality replacement.
