NFL news: While it had already been a few months since the Green Bay Packers traded Aaron Rodgers to the New York Jets, there is still one lingering hiccup from that blockbuster deal that remains unresolved. Well, that was until the major development that took place on Tuesday. According to reports, Rodgers and the Jets have now resolved a contract issue that dates back to the four-time MVP’s dispute with the Packers front office.
NFL News: Aaron Rodgers, Jets Make Headway With Contract Issue

According to a report by Mike Florio of PFT, Rodgers and the Jets have reached an agreement that will address the uncertainty (and the massive financial impact) surrounding his contract:
“Per a source with knowledge of the situation, the Jets and Rodgers have worked out a deal to reconfigure a contract that was restructured when the Packers traded Rodgers to the Jets. The contract has been agreed to but not signed,” Florio wrote.
The details of the re-restructred deal remain unclear as the particulars have not been made public by New York’s front office nor by Raodgers’ camp. Florio also reports, however, that the deal was done in principle, but that as of right now, Rodgers has yet to put pen to paper.
The Packers sent Rodgers to the Jets as he enters Year 2 of his three-year, $150.8 million fully guaranteed deal. In order to relieve New York of a significant salary cap hit for this coming season, the Jets and the Packers agreed to reconfigure the deal.
To cut the long story short, Rodgers was set to pocket a whopping $107 million next season. That is unless the Jets were able to find a way to fix this predicament. It is now clear that they have done just that, and it’s also possible that Aaron Rodgers himself may have agreed to some concessions in order for all this to work out.
