Jordan Love gets a new weapon in the latest mock draft by this NFL Network analyst
The Green Bay Packers are set to move forward with quarterback Jordan Love as the starter this season, ushering in a new era at Lambeau Field. With Aaron Rodgers likely out of the mix pending a trade to the New York Jets, the focus is on Love and the offense.
This offseason, the Packers lost wide receivers Allen Lazard and Randall Cobb. While they do have Christian Watson, they need to address the position and land some talent for Love.
And one NFL analyst has them doing that in his latest mock draft.
NFL Network’s Pete Shrager released his first mock draft of the year for the 2023 draft and he has the Packers selecting wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba:
The wideout class is weird this year in that there’s no apparent slam-dunk No. 1, and the scouting and coaching communities don’t seem overly enthusiastic about any of the prospects as clear-cut blue-chip players. To each his own. I’ll put JSN as the first WR taken, but that’s no sure thing. Green Bay snagging a receiver now — with Aaron Rodgers (presumably) leaving the building, after years of the Packers neglecting the position in the first round — would be humorous. Oh, the irony.
The selection would give Jordan Love a weapon in his first year as the starter and would make JSN the first wide receiver off the board.
Pairing him with Watson would be huge and could give the Packers a trio to build around for the future with Jordan Love at the helm.
