Jordan Love had this game marked on his calendar ever since his first career start back in 2021, where he only put up 7 points of offense on 190 yards passing versus the Chiefs. He was able to redeem himself tonight, throwing for 267 yards and 3 touchdowns with no turnovers.
The Jordan Love you saw today versus the one you saw in his first start is night and day. His comfort level is growing every game and continues to show flashes of the hall of fame quarterbacks that came before him. Beating the reigning super bowl champions is a huge step in the right direction.
Keisean Nixon Intercepts Patrick Mahomes in Crunch Time
Both sides of the ball showed up tonight for Green Bay. Patrick Mahomes struggled to find rhythm in the passing game, only completing 21 of his 33 passes for 210 yards and a touchdown to tight end Noah Gray early in the fourth quarter.
Mahomes also threw an interception with just over five minutes left in the game. Keisean Nixon was the recipient of the interception, reading the pass and beating the receiver to the spot for the ball. This was a crucial turnover that allowed the Packers time to chew some clock, giving Kansas City only one minute to drive down the field.
Christian Watson Goes Down Late in the Fourth Quarter with Injury
While the Packers pulled through with the victory tonight, not everything was smooth sailing. Christian Watson went down with just over three minutes left in the contest by injuring his hamstring.
Watson was having a field day versus Kansas City, catching 7 of his 9 targets for 71 yards and 2 touchdowns. This was his best game of the season so far, surpassing his season highs in receptions, targets and touchdowns.
After gaining a crucial first down to help Green Bay chew clock, Watson gave himself up while grabbing the back of his hamstring. There was no contact involved. You could tell by his face that something was wrong. Watson sat out the first three games of the season due to a hamstring injury. So, this does cause concern and will be monitored throughout the practice week.
Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers will look to continue their playoff push on the road next week at MetLife Stadium, where they will take on the New York Giants.
