The 2023 NFL regular season is just weeks away and the Green Bay Packers are winding down their preseason preparations, as is every team. On Wednesday, the team held its final practice that would be open to the public. It was a day that approach 100 degrees and felt even hotter due to the heat index.
The Packers’ players participated in a two-hour long practice in front of fans for the final time this season. Some, like second-year defensive lineman Devonte Wyatt, had to drop out due to the intense heat. Others, though, grinded through the practice and headed straight into the locker room.
And who could blame them? The heat was terrible! But a handful of players remained on the field after practice to take time with the fans.
Green Bay Packers Quarterback Jordan Love Was Among the Players Who Stayed (NFL)

Among the players who stayed on the field and took time with the fans were Aaron Jones, AJ Dillon, Christian Watson, Jaire Alexander, and Jordan Love. And the last one off of the field: the new starting quarterback.

Needless to say, this is not something that fans would have seen from Love’s predecessor, Aaron Rodgers. This is not to say that Rodgers was not fond of the fans, but it is a clear indication of the difference between the two quarterbacks.
Who knows? A time may come when Love is so successful that he, too, leaves the field early for whatever reason. Perhaps it is the excitement and emotions that comes with being new starting quarterback that inspired him to stay out there.
But the fact of the matter is that it doesn’t matter what motivated him to do so; what matters is that he did it. The Packers and their fans are unique in sports in how they players are part of the community in ways that players in other cities simply are not.
It was good to see, and it also shows how much the fans support him, and how much he appreciates it.
