NFL: The Green Bay Packers have a young nucleus of wide receivers they are extremely excited about. Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs, Jayden Reed, and Samori Toure lead the exciting, but young wide receiver group. Many fans have clamored all off-season long for the Packers to bring in a veteran wide receiver to, at the very least, provide experience and mentorship to the young group. De’Vondre Campbell sounded off today about one free-agent wide receiver that he thinks deserves an NFL roster spot.
De’Vondre Campbell Endorses Free Agent Wide Receiver Mohamed Sanu (NFL)

Co-Owner of Wisconsin Sports Heroics, Robin Adams, highlighted specifically what De’Vondre Campbell said:
There was a time when Green Bay Packers fans thought that the team would do well to sign Sanu as a free agent to help fill the void left by the Davante Adams trade. Of course, the team instead signed Sammy Watkins, who was subsequently released partway through the 2022 NFL season.
Sanu, too, was released from his 2022 team, the Miami Dolphins, but was cut before the season even began. He did not catch on with any other team and remained a free agent the entire year.
Now in 2023, he remains unsigned, but is still working hard and staying in shape, waiting for a call. Campbell, who played with Sanu for the Atlanta Falcons from 2016-2019, praised him for having the best pure hands of any wide receiver he has ever played with (with the exception of De’Andre Hopkins):
Can’t tell me there’s no team out there that can’t utilize his services. Other than D-Hop my dawg Mo has the best pure hands of any WR I’ve ever played with. Keep grinding brother @Mo_12_Sanu 🤝🏿 https://t.co/KfDcqqNPs1

Green Bay Packers Fans React To De’Vondre Campbell Endorsing Mohamed Sanu

Of course, when one of your star players endorse a free-agent, fans tend to react accordingly. That was no different with this situation:
Get him to GB. Talk to Gute and tell him all about him and his leadership. You’re a leader. Nothing wrong with talking to your GM and asking 🙏

Would The Green Bay Packers Be Interested In A Player Like Mohamed Sanu?
Matt LaFleur said earlier in the off-season that he would love a veteran wide receiver in Green Bay. The Packers have such a young and explosive unit, however, with Randall Cobb and Allen Lazard leaving this off-season there is little veteran presence. That being said, with the addition of Jayden Reed and tight ends Tucker Kraft and Luke Musgrave, the Packers may feel set at the position. At least for now. The plan is to allow this young core to grow together for years in hopes of forming incredible on-field chemistry.
After the 2023 NFL draft, Matt Lafleur stated they’d have to work on getting better each practice:
“I think the expectations are to put the work in every day and get better and better and better. Never going to limit what we can’t do. We’ve just got to figure out what works best.”
