NFL: The Green Bay Packers, as a whole, do a pretty good job of staying out of legal trouble. It is pretty rare to see a Packers player being arrested in the headlines of the media. The Chicago Bears, on the other hand, are seeing one of their former players going through an extremely difficult legal period.
Former Green Bay Packers Rival And Chicago Bears Edge Rusher Robert Quinn Arrested On Seven Different Charges (NFL)
Former Chicago Bears and Philadelphia Eagles pass rusher Robert Quinn was arrested in Summerville, S.C. on Friday following an alleged hit-and-run incident and assault, according to Dorchester County public records. Summerville news outlet WCSC-TV first reported the news of Quinn’s arrest.
Quinn, who is currently a free agent, turned himself into authorities Friday morning after the Ladson, S.C. native allegedly damaged four cars, a gate and light post during a traffic incident in a neighborhood on Tuesday night, per WCSC:
In an interview with WCSC, eyewitness Lisa Ball described Quinn’s actions as “very belligerent” and said that he offered to buy new cars when confronted by residents. Ball then said she told him to get off her property before he “proceeded to put his hands on me and slap me not once but twice” and eventually fled the scene.
Local CBS affiliate WCIV later reported that police said Quinn drove off the roadway in his truck and stuck several vehicles, including one occupied by a woman sitting in her driveway. After allegedly offering to buy her beer, he then grabbed her by the shoulders, stated “listen to me,” struck her with an open hand across the face, re-entered his truck, hit another vehicle, and left the area on foot.
A judge granted Quinn the following bonds for seven charges he’s facing:
- Hit and run with someone in the vehicle: $5,000
- Four hit-and-runs that were unintended: $232.50 each
- Striking a highway fixture: $155
- Assault and battery 3rd degree: $1087.50
Neighbors in the Carrington Chase community, off of Miles Jamison Road, reported they witnessed a driver, who has been identified as Quinn, hit four cars, a gate and a light post.
