There has been a lot of argument about where the Green Bay Packers are as a team. Are they rebuilding? Reloading? Will they be in contention for the playoffs or in contention for a top-five pick? Everyone seems to have varying degrees of opinions. One NFL executive made a bold claim about the 2023 season for the Packers.
NFL Executive Makes Bold Claim About Green Bay Packers
An NFL executive spoke to NFL Analysis Network and had this to say about the 2023 season for the Green Bay Packers.
“Look, I think everyone has already written this team off. The Packers are not rebuilding in any way. They still have a very talented roster. I think they make the playoffs this season with Jordan Love leading the way.”
This is a bold claim. The trouble with predicting how the 2023 season will go is it mostly hangs on whether Jordan Love is good or not. We have just seen so little that it is impossible to predict how he will do as a starter. This executive is counting on the talent around him. The Packers have a talented roster despite a lot of young players.
A Path To The Playoffs Is Easy To See
It isn’t hard to see the Green Bay Packers sneaking into the playoffs. The NFC is weak. The Packers’ schedule is favorable for the most part. Love doesn’t have to be MVP Aaron Rodgers. He simply has to be decent. The defense has the talent to be a top-ten group the only caution there is the unit is led by Joe Barry. Rich Bisaccia has transformed the special teams. It is not unfathomable the Packers get to 10-7 and in a weak NFC, that might be enough for a wild-card berth.

The Green Bay Packers might even steal the division depending on how the chips fall. The Lions are the favorite but the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have won the division more recently than them. Basically, I’ll believe it when I see it. The Vikings will most likely take a step back and the Bears, while improved, still won’t be pining for the division crown. 2023 is going to be a fun year and it will be interesting to see whether the players can rise to the occasion.
