The New York Jets are expected to pursue WR Randall Cobb in free agency
The flirtation between Aaron Rodgers and his next career move continued this week as NFL free agency opened up. With the New York Jets at the center of it all, the franchise is now starting to make moves to potentially accompany Rodgers as the quarterback.
The Jets are reportedly closing in on a deal to sign former Packers wide receiver Allen Lazard. And now, they are also being linked to veteran receiver and Rodgers’ good friend Randall Cobb.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on Tuesday morning that the Jets are very likely set to pursue Cobb to join them, hinting that they may indeed feel great about their chances to land Rodgers.
With the Jets closing in on a deal for WR Allen Lazard, another WR expected to be on their radar in the coming days of free agency is Packers’ veteran Randall Cobb, per league sources.

This certainly feels like a move for a franchise that knows they are on the cusp of potentially landing the quarterback. Bringing in two of his favorite weapons could help the situation and make it a comfortable transition for Rodgers.
The 32-year-old Cobb still plans to play at least another season as reported on Monday. Cobb is coming off a 2022 season in which he caught 34 passes for 417 yards and 1 touchdown in 13 games.
And he might be reuniting with Rodgers but this time with the New York Jets.
