The unsavory relationship between Aaron Rodgers and Garrett Wilson during their time together in the New York Jets is well-documented. They are moving on to a new chapter but their fate remains connected.

A recent report from NFL Insider Ian Rapoport revealed that Wilson has leaving the team among the options but the one condition that should be met for him to extend is to not see A-Rod in the locker room anymore.
“Instead of requesting a trade like he probably would have if Aaron Rodgers was back, he is now not going anywhere,” Rapoport said through a post on X.
This is interesting as there were reports before the start of their first year together that A-Rod was impressed with his new wide receiver.

One could say that the Jets chose Wilson over Rodgers who even hated it that the organization made him fly cross country only to be told that he will be released.
Rodgers is now with the Pittsburgh Steelers in what he said could be his last season.
Garret Wilson excited for new era w/out Aaron Rodgers
As for Wilson, who recorded three straight seasons of 1,000 yards or more, he re-signed to a four-year, $130 million contract extension on Monday.
“Yup, Jets green has been running through me since the day they drafted me,” Wilson wrote on X about the signing.
“Despite the ups and downs, the faith is mutual… that means the world to me. Excited to start a new version of the chase next week.”
Looking back, the struggling Jets had to deal with not just their bad 2024 season but also the circus created by the well-publicized dislike between Rodgers and Wilson.

Rapoport said in December that the latter was frustrated by his quarterback for the lack of communication.
“While Wilson will not publicly say it, those who know him well believe he’s been frustrated at the lack of looks from Rodgers while wondering what else he can do to fix the relationship,” the reporter said.
