The Milwaukee Bucks are lucky to have a superstar like Giannis Antetokounmpo. He has already brought a championship to Milwaukee and has completely changed the basketball culture in the city. They have even painted a mural in his honor. Giannis has also attracted the eye of other superstars around the league. Whether it is rivals or admirers, Giannis is a household name. One superstar says he wants to team up with Giannis, and this isn’t the first time he’s said it. Damian Lillard of the Portland Trailblazers would reportedly love to play with Giannis.
Damian Lillard and Giannis Antetokounmpo Together?
Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard sat down with GQ Sports to answer fan questions in an episode of Actually Me that released on Thursday. The questions ranged from fashion to his relationship with former teammate CJ McCollum to who he’d like help from to win a championship. Who did he pick for that last one? The 32-year-old reiterated his interest in pairing with Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo.
I would pick Giannis. I mean, I would say just the dominance, you know, somebody that’s, you know, going to get to the rim. He’s a good playmaker, a good defender, disruptive, and the way he plays complements the way I play. I would bring something to the table that complements what he does and vice versa. Seamless.

Damian Lillard Is Likely Never Coming to Milwaukee
Although it is exciting to think about Damian Lillard teaming up with Giannis in Milwaukee, the fact of the matter is that it will not happen. Giannis, of course, signed a supermax extension to stay with the Bucks until the 2025-26 season. Similarly, Damian Lillard signed an extension with Portland that goes through the 2024-25 season.
Giannis Antetokounmpo is famously loyal to the city of Milwaukee. Lillard, too, has become known for his loyalty to the Portland Trailblazers. While the two would almost certainly make a very dynamic duo, it is very unlikely to happen any time soon, if at all. Milwaukee at least has a title recently and is much more competitive than Portland. Should the pair ever come together on the same team, it would likely be Lillard coming to Milwaukee. However, it is still far fetched from ever happening.
