Damian Lillard set the NBA world on fire when it was revealed that he had requested a trade away from the Portland Trailblazers. Frustrated with the organization’s inability to surround him with adequate talent, Lillard informed Portland that he wants to be traded to the Miami Heat.
The Trailblazers are willing to trade Lillard, but the price will be steep and they may or may not involve the Heat in the trade. Portland’s general manager Joe Cronin has said he will get the best return for the Trailblazers that is possible. That may mean Miami is out on Lillard.
The Portland Trailblazers Do Not Want Miami Heat Star and Milwaukee Native Tyler Herro
ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski gave an update on the trade talks between the Heat and Trailblazers for Lillard. Portland wants young talent and draft picks, but they are not impressed with Miami’s current offer, and they have no interest in Milwaukee native Tyler Herro:
The Trail Blazers are “not impressed” with the Heat’s trade offer for Damian Lillard, which could lead to a deal elsewhere now, per @wojespn:
– While Damian Lillard prefers Miami, Portland needs “maximum value” in any trade.
– Miami needs at minimum a third team to take on… pic.twitter.com/lTvmtFUAgV

Herro, of course, went to Whitnall High School in Greenfield and infamously spurned the University of Wisconsin in favor of Kentucky. Ever since, he has been vilified by many in the state of Wisconsin.
Could the Milwaukee Bucks Be a Third Team In a Damian Lillard Trade?
Here is a list of players the Bucks currently have on their roster:
- Giannis Antetokounmpo
- Jrue Holiday
- Khris Middleton (re-signed)
- Brook Lopez (re-signed)
- Grayson Allen
- Pat Connaughton
- Bobby Portis
- Jae Crowder (re-signed)
- Robin Lopez (free agent signing)
- Malik Beasley (free agent signing)
- MarJon Beauchamp
It is safe to assume that none of the players Milwaukee recently signed or re-signed are on the trading block already. Additionally, Giannis is untouchable and Holiday is not the young athlete either team would want in return.
Bobby Portis also made it plainly obvious that he is not going anywhere either. MarJon Beauchamp, likewise, is unlikely to be involved in any trade as he is Milwaukee’s only recent first round pick.
That leaves Grayson Allen and Pat Connaughton as the two possible trade candidates on the Bucks’ roster and, frankly, they are not going to sway a deal for the Trailblazers or the Heat.
Jon Horst will sit this one out.
