NBA: The Milwaukee Bucks are in the midst of an eventful off-season. The first wave of NBA free agency has come and gone. It was an action-packed first few days that saw the Milwaukee Bucks lock up Khris Middleton to a three-year extension and Brook Lopez to a two-year extension. They also brought back Jae Crowder, and signed Malik Beasley and Robin Lopez. All figure to have a significant impact on the outlook for the upcoming season. However, the off-season is far from over and the Bucks could make yet another big move.
The Milwaukee Bucks Were Named In A Massive Three-Team Trade With The Indiana Pacers And Washington Wizards

Max Griffith highlighted this trade that would send 31-year-old Delon Wright to the Milwaukee Bucks:
Milwaukee Bucks Receive:
- Delon Wright
- 2025 Second Round Pick (via Indiana Pacers)
- 2027 Second Round Pick (via Washington Wizards)
Washington Wizards Receive:
- Jalen Smith
- 2030 Second Round Pick (via Milwaukee Bucks)
Indiana Pacers Receive:
- Grayson Allen
- 2029 Second Round Pick (Via Washington Wizards)
Another situation the Bucks could take advantage of is the overcrowding at the point guard position in Washington. This deal has them giving up a second-round pick in 2030 and Grayson Allen. In return, they get Delon Wright and second rounders in 2025 and 2027.
Maybe the trade isn’t as specific as this, but the idea of grabbing Delon Wright and second round picks from these teams is a good one. This deal would be very advantageous for Milwaukee, and swapping the 2030 pick for picks in 2025 and 2027 would be a great return.
Delon Wright also fits positional needs in Milwaukee and does a little bit of everything. Wright averaged 7.4 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 3.9 assists in 24 minutes for Washington last season. Wright has averaged at least a steal in 10 of his 12 seasons in the NBA, and it is no question that he plays solid defense on the perimeter.
Between the two second round picks and adding Wright as the backup point guard, this is a good trade for Milwaukee, considering Grayson Allen’s trade value. As far as Indiana’s involvement in the trade, they clear out a little room at the four but sacrifice a 2025 second round pick in the process for Grayson Allen, though getting the 2029 first from Washington helps even out the deal.
This is a pretty complex trade considering the value of these three players, but it is a trade that can help all three teams without blowing things up.
What Would This Trade Do For The Milwaukee Bucks? (NBA)

Delon Wright has bounced around the league since being drafted by the Toronto Raptors in 2015. The Wizards are his seventh team in eight years, but considering that he is having a career season, he may have teams looking at him for a long-term answer.
One of the more under-discussed storylines from Washington Wizards this past season is how good Delon Wright was. Notable, how much better the team was when he played. Looking specifically at the minutes Delon is on the court, it is clear that the Wizards are a completely different team. When he is out there, the Wizards have a net rating of +3.5, meaning they outscore opponents by 3.5 points per 100 possessions. When Wright is not on the court, the Wiz have a net rating of -1.5, which is the equivalent of a surefire lottery team.
The depth that Delon Wright could provide the Milwaukee Bucks at the guard position would be huge. With Jevon Carter signing with the Chicago Bulls this off-season, the Bucks will be looking to add to the guard position at some point. Whether that is via trade or free agency remains to be seen. Jrue Holiday is one of the premier point guards in the league, and certainly one of the best on ball defensive guards in the league.
However, Carter’s minutes off the bench proved to be invaluable at times over the last few seasons. Wright would provide the type of depth they are currently lacking, and could even be an upgrade from Carter.
