Monty Williams appears to be at the top of the Milwaukee Bucks list
The NBA offseason has already been a busy one for teams not making it to the conference finals with multiple coaches being fired and a few finding new homes. For the Milwaukee Bucks, they made the decision to move on from Mike Budenholzer and now they have a top candidate that has emerged for the job.
Per Shams Charania, former Phoenix Suns head coach Monty Williams has emerged as the favorite and is “near or at the top of their list after they fired Mike Budenholzer.” Here is what Charania said on Monday morning with the situation:
“The Bucks will pursue Monty Williams from what I’m told, pretty aggressively… He’s near or at the top of their list after they fired Mike Budenholzer”@ShamsCharania thinks there will be significant interest in Monty Williams in the marketplace#RunItBack pic.twitter.com/ZPcmOwDhyR

Williams was surprisingly fired by the Suns late on Saturday night as the team moved on from the two-time NBA Coach of the Year after four seasons. As soon as Williams was fired, the rumors to Milwaukee started to swirl.
However, they will have some competition.
Here is what Charania wrote on Monday about the teams pursuing Williams:
Williams, who sources say has three years and $21 million left on his Suns deal, is said to be focusing on family time after being fired despite being a season removed from winning NBA Coach of the Year. League sources tell me the Bucks, Pistons and Raptors will pursue and inquire about possibilities with Williams.
The Milwaukee Bucks will be a desirable place for any head coach who is interested especially with Giannis Antetokounmpo on the roster. Landing Williams could be a slam dunk for the franchise and it sounds like things are starting to pick up.
