Aaron Rodgers trade speculation picks up a little more from national analyst
The 2022 NFL season is winding down as we enter conference championship weekend. And the next few weeks will feature a lot of rumors regarding Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
The quarterback and franchise once again enter an interesting offseason in which his decision is still unclear.
Could Rodgers return? Yep. Could he be traded? Yes. Could he retire? It’s a possibility. The options are out there and as Adam Schefter pointed out on Saturday, a trade is a real scenario for them.
NBCSports Peter King echoed those thoughts again on Monday morning in his latest column:
Aaron Rodgers, tradee, wouldn’t be cost-prohibitive. Adam Schefter reported Saturday that a Green Bay trade of Aaron Rodgers is “a very real scenario” this off-season. Rodgers is 39. If, say, the Jets could satisfy Green Bay’s trade request, cap numbers of $15.79 million in 2023 and $32.54 million in 2024, per overthecap.com, would be reasonable.
Now, King isn’t really reporting anything new here. However, it’s interesting that another national analyst brought this up. But we should get used to this as we saw last year with Aaron Rodgers, the offseason will be filled with wild rumors and speculation.
That is until Rodgers himself makes the decision and then we can move on.
