He finished efficiently around the basket, piling up a new season high in points and securing his third 20 point game of the campaign. His struggles from long range and a few missed free throws limited his overall output, yet he remained a steady presence and nearly reached a double double in the Milwaukee Bucks 106 – 103 setback to the Miami Heat.
Myles Turner finished with 24 points on 9/15 shooting, including 1/5 from deep and 5/8 at the line, while adding eight rebounds in Wednesday’s loss to the Heat. After totaling only 24 points across his previous two outings, he matched that number in a single night and set a new season high. Over his last five games, Turner has averaged 15.4 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks.

Turner stressed that the Bucks have to outwork opponents collectively after dropping their first NBA Cup game.
“I think that we showed a lot tonight. Personally, I think this is the best we’ve competed in the past five, six games, whatever it may be. Obviously it wasn’t the result that we wanted, but the competition level was there and that’s what’s gonna have to be our calling card, our identity, whether Giannis [Antetokounmpo] plays or he doesn’t is just outcompeting teams,” said the Bucks forward in his post-game availability.
The veteran center has taken on a heavier offensive load with Giannis Antetokounmpo sidelined by a groin injury, though his production has wavered at times. He can still provide steady contributions, but he is not expected to anchor Milwaukee’s offense, particularly with Ryan Rollins emerging as one of the team’s more dependable scoring options this season.
“It’s the formula now in this league. Guys aren’t just having a whole bunch of All-Stars on the team and loading up. You have to have guys out there with the same mentality and just honestly, just frankly being dawgs out there. That’s really what this league has evolved into.”
