Christmas Day TV Viewership Numbers are in. (Bucks vs Packers)
For many Wisconsinites Christmas Day was a pretty awesome sports day. With a noon Packer Game and a 4pm Bucks Game, sports were on throughout many televisions as families visited one another for the holiday.
According to FOS (Front Office Sports) the TV numbers are in. They took time to compare which sport had more eyeballs: the NBA or NFL. According to their numbers, it wasn’t even close. The NFL continues to attract 7x what the NBA does. The NFL is king when it comes to sports content.
The Bucks game drew over 6 million views, the most watched Christmas NBA game. The Packers-Dolphins game drew over 25 million tv viewers.

Why the NFL?
People in and around TV had wondered for quite a while which would be more popular viewing. This tweet, from August 14th, spoke to that early examination of the role of TV.

In terms of sports viewership, the NFL is, by far, the number one watched sport in America. NFL games continue to attract millions upon million of viewers despite past controversies. The Super Bowl is expected to draw over 99 million eyeballs to America TVs.
Of course, that pales in comparison to the most watched sport in the world, soccer. Estimates have it that over 1 billion people, globally, watched the World Cup final between Argentina in France. By comparison only 26 million Americans tuned in at 9am to watch the live finale.
