MLB Trade Rumors: Despite spending a lot in free agency less than 10 months ago the New York Mets are sellers at this year’s trade deadline. Already they have traded Max Scherzer, David Robertson, and Eduardo Escobar. Now a left-handed bullpen arm is rumored to be drawing interest from two division leaders.

New York Mets southpaw Brooks Raley linked to two division leaders (MLB Trade Rumors).
Brooks Raley, a 35 year old left-handed reliever, is having a tremendous first season in New York. Through 46 games and 38 innings pitched he has a 2.37 ERA and a 10.2 K:9 ratio. In most recent years he has pitched to a 2.68 ERA with the Tampa Rays in 2022, and 4.78 ERA with the Houston Astros in 2021.
Contract wise Brooks Raley has a $6.5 MM club option for the 2024 season. With how well he has performed this year, including high leverage situations, he is an intriguing trade candidate for contending teams and essentially is a rental player.
Per Mike Mayer of Metsmerized two division leaders have expressed interest in his services. Those teams are the Minnesota Twins and the Los Angeles Dodgers. Both are currently leading their respective divisions and are gearing up for a post-season push in which Brooks Raley could play a big part in that.
The trade deadline is tomorrow August 1, so a deal will have to be agreed upon soon if Brooks Raley is going to be dealt.
