On Sunday Tampa Bay Rays star Wander Franco made the press for some serious allegations after a post on social media went viral. The post, which revealed that he was in an inappropriate relationship with a minor, has now resulted in an investigation from MLB and for him mutually agreeing to go on the restricted list and leave the team.
Tampa Bays Public Relations revealed that Wander Franco would be away from the team on their upcoming road trip. Jeff Passan pointed out that putting him on the restricted list takes him off the roster and in most cases is unpaid. However a report from Marc Topkin indicated that Franco will be paid during his time on the restricted list.
Here is what the baseball world had to say about the Wander Franco update.
Baseball world reactions to the latest Wander Franco update (MLB News).

The Wander Franco allegation is absolutely wild. If it’s true his career should be over, just absolutely insane & sad

This is crazy. Just a reminder that you can never assume things. You assume that you have this young star player on your favorite team that’s gonna play 10-15 years and BAM! It goes away. This is more important than baseball but just looking at this from a baseball perspective

That doesn’t look good, was tryin
g to give him benefit of the doubt from conflicting reports. But optics of this definitely make him look guilty and knowingly.
