MLB News: Julio Rodriguez of the Seattle Mariners made an incredible home run robbing catch in which he fooled everyone including San Diego Padres star Fernando Tatis Jr.  Tatis Jr was convinced that he had hit a home run and had begun to trot around the bases when Rodriguez revealed that he actually caught the ball.

VIDEO: Julio Rodriguez fools everyone with an incredible leaping catch at the wall (MLB News).

With Logan Gilbert on the mound in the fourth inning and facing off against Fernando Tatis Jr a ball was launched to dead center in which Julio Rodriguez made an incredible leaping catch.  He initially played it off as if he had missed the ball, but after a dramatic walk towards home plate he revealed that he had indeed made the catch.

The Mariners would go on to win the game 2-0, so this catch from Rodriguez kept a run off of the board.  San Diego mustered together only three hits all night and Logan Gilbert struck out 12.

This Seattle win moves them nine games over .500 and two games out from a Wild Card Spot.  On the other hand the Padres are now four games under .500 and four games out from a Wild Card spot.
