The Minnesota Timberwolves were facing a Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard-less Milwaukee Bucks team on Wednesday night at home. The Timberwolves squandered the opportunity at home and lost to the Bucks by a final score of 103-101.

With the loss for Minnesota, they dropped to 30-25 on the year. With the win for Milwaukee, they improved to 29-24 on the season. The Minnesota Timberwolves are currently the seventh seed in the Western Conference and the Milwaukee Bucks are currently the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference.

Last season, the Timberwolves were one of the best teams in the NBA. This season, it has been a different story for this franchise. Minnesota is not the same team as they were last season and some fans are concerned about what direction they are heading in. This is what some of the fans had to say about the loss against the Bucks:

    Try again next year

    — Joe Offerdahl (@Joe_Offerdahl) February 13, 2025

This wolves team are too relentless on Edwards, most times Edwards needs to make plays instead taking shot , the the overall team was just not good 😐

    — Vicky NOT Hyuga (@VickyHyuga17) February 13, 2025

This team has turned into a dumpster fire and it’s pretty sad to see as a neutral. Yall hit a (couple) big shots late and I think the decibel level actually went down. No one cares in that arena and neither do the players seemingly.

    — Brady (@bradyfeldhaus) February 13, 2025

Anthony has not been helpful in this game, it can’t be all about shooting 3s. You are missing 3s do what makes dangerous go at the defenders and get them in foul trouble. Poor decison making from Ant too

    — Tim Clinch (@TimothyChinyam4) February 13, 2025

What has not helped the Minnesota Timberwolves this season is that they traded away Karl-Anthony Towns to the New York Knicks this offseason for Julius Randle. Towns were the perfect number two option for Anthony Edwards and Karl-Anthony Towns is the perfect number two option for Jalen Brunson.

Randle is not the same player as Towns is. No wonder why Knicks fans are more happy with Towns than when they had Julius Randle around.

Five different players scored in double figures for the Minnesota Timberwolves against the Milwaukee Bucks for Chris Finch’s squad. Anthony Edwards scored 28 points. He only shot 30.3% from the field. Edwards also grabbed seven rebounds, recorded four assists, and recorded two steals.

Naz Reid scored 22 points for Minnesota. He shot 41.2% from the field. Reid also grabbed 13 rebounds, recorded two assists, and blocked one shot. Rudy Gobert scored 20 points and grabbed 14 rebounds. Gobert is no stranger to recording double-doubles in basketball games.

Rookie Terrence Shannon Jr. scored 11 points and Jaden McDaniels also added 10 points. The Timberwolves will face the Oklahoma City Thunder (44-9) on Thursday night right before the NBA All-Star break after losing to the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday night also.
