We now have a bit of a clearer picture of how the 2023-24 campaign will play out after the NBA released the regular season schedule for all 30 teams. This has given Andy Bailey of Bleacher Report the impetus to come up with his comprehensive win-loss prediction for the entire league this coming season, including that of Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks.
Milwaukee Bucks Expected to Win 50 Games in 2023-24
According to Fanduel’s Sporstbook, the Bucks have an over/under of 53.5 for 2023-24. In layman’s terms, this means that the Bucks are expected to win around 53 games this coming season. Well, in Bailey’s estimation, he believes that Milwaukee will barely make the 50-win mark.
Age and health are the two biggest factors for Bailey. He points out that the Bucks are now the third-oldest team in the NBA. At the same time, both Giannis Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton have missed significant stretches over the past few seasons due to injury, which could be the case again in 2023-24.
Nevertheless, Bailey still has high hopes for the Bucks this term. He believes that they will finish with a very respectable 50-32 record by the end of the campaign:
“Despite winning a league-best 58 games last season, a fifth-place finish in net rating and first-round loss to the eighth-seeded Miami Heat might be influencing this prediction too.
“Even with all that in mind, though, it’s not hard to see why the over/under is so high. This team has continuity, chemistry and one of the three or four best players in the world,” Bailey wrote.
Boston Celtics Reign Supreme in East
The Bucks’ projected 50-32 record will have them place second in the Eastern Conference behind the Boston Celtics, who are expected to finish with a league-best 52 wins. Milwaukee and Boston are expected to swap places from last season, with Jayson Tatum and Co. now having the best record in the conference and the Bucks having to settle for the second spot.
Out in the West, the defending champs Denver Nuggets are also projected to finish with a 52-30 record, followed by the Golden State Warriors and the Phoenix Suns, who are both expected to win 50 games apiece.
