Milwaukee Bucks Trying To Win Again With the Same Core

On Saturday, NBA.com featured an article about the Milwaukee Bucks’ upcoming 2023 season with 30 teams in 30 days segment. The title featured: “Bucks decide to run it back once again with championship core.”It is going to be a very interesting 2023-2024 season for Milwaukee for a ton of reasons.

The first reason is can the Bucks win another championship amid the Giannis Antetokounmpo trade rumors and also having an older roster? They had the best record in the NBA a season ago at 58-24, before flaming out to the Miami Heat. The Milwaukee Bucks are one of the favorites to win the 2023-2024 NBA title, and we will see how it all plays out.

Some of the key additions for this season are coach Adrian Griffin Jr., guard Malik Beasley, and center Robin Lopez.

The key loss was coach Mike Budenholzer.

Having continuity in place for this upcoming season will be huge for this franchise. When the core of Jrue Holiday, Khris Middleton, and Giannis Antetokounmpo are all healthy, they are one of the toughest teams to beat in the NBA ever since the 2020-2021 season. This will be the fourth season they will all be together.

When Miami defeated Milwaukee 4-1 a season ago, Giannis Antetokounmpo missed a couple of games due to injury, which proved large. Hopefully, luck can bounce back to their side this season. In the previous, postseason, Khris Middleton was dealing with an injury of his own.

Shaun Powell of NBA.com wrote in regard to the Milwaukee Bucks:

“After giving it some thought, and really not much debate, the Bucks decided to run it back with the championship core for a third straight season. This won’t come without some risk, and perhaps they didn’t really have much choice, but the lineup we’ve seen the last three years will be the same 2023-24. Witht hat said, re-signing Middleton and Brook Lopez to extensions cost the Bucks. It’s a combined $150 million for two starters who, while obviously productive and criticial to the success of the last three years, are on the back end of their careers. Yet they compliment Giannis quite well, and the Bucks are all about winning now, so if there’s a serious drop-off from Middleton and Lopez at the end of those contracts, the Bucks are apparently OK with that.”

The Milwaukee Bucks will have high expectations entering the 2023-2024 season. It is all about another NBA title or bust. Milwaukee will be one of the best teams in the league. They are right up there with the Phoenix Suns, the Boston Celtics, and the Denver Nuggets as being NBA title contenders for the upcoming NBA season. Fans across the NBA would love to see a Denver vs. Milwaukee NBA Finals.

Milwaukee will run it back with the same team once again, and it could be beneficial, but it also can not be beneficial. Brook Lopez, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Grayson Allen, Jrue Holiday, and Khris Middleton will be the starters.

Some key guys off the bench will be Pat Connaughton, Bobby Portis Jr., Malik Beasley, and possibly MarJon Beauchamp. Milwaukee will need to stay healthy this season. If bad luck happens once again due to injury, that is one thing. However, if the Milwaukee Bucks flame out because they play poorly in the postseason before the conference finals or the NBA Finals, it would be interesting to see what Giannis Antetokounmpo’s next move should be.
