In its January 4, 2023 matchup, the Milwaukee Bucks did everything in its power to lose to the Toronto Raptors after blowing a 21-point lead with four minutes remaining in the game. As awful as the back-half of the fourth quarter looked, Milwaukee was able to regain its composure and deliver a win after Grayson Allen hit a three-pointer to put the squad up by three with just under 11 seconds remaining.

Starting from the top, with the Bucks and Raptors tied at 101 points with 18.3 seconds remaining in overtime, Milwaukee did what it was supposed to: Put the ball in Giannis Antetokounmpo‘s hands. There was only 11 seconds remaining on the shot clock, so Giannis appears to slightly rush his downhill attempt to the right from the top of the three-point line as Brook Lopez isn’t able to get set for a screen. Luckily, Giannis pivots and decides to crossover to his left where Lopez already finds himself in position to set a more solid screen.
The Raptors switch the screen and put Scottie Barnes on a momentum-heavy Antetokounmpo. That’s one of the toughest positions for any defender in the NBA, and Giannis does an exceptional job at combining his length and strength to get deep into the restricted area of the paint. This seemingly simple move draws all five Raptors players into the paint, giving Antetokounmpo a variety of options on what he can do next.
Giannis is able to recognize Fred VanVleet suck in from the weakside, leaving Allen wide open for a corner three. From there, it’s up to the Duke product to deliver on what becomes a relatively uncontested look at a game-winning shot—something he absolutely delivers on.
