The home of the Milwaukee Bucks got a shiny visitor on Wednesday, as the historic and arguably the best trophy in all sports appeared at Fiserv Forum. Of course, we are talking about the Lord Stanley Cup which the Florida Panthers won earlier this summer.
There is no NHL team in Milwaukee, so, why was the Stanley Cup at the Bucks’ house?
Well, Panthers general manager Bill Zito was born in the Milwaukee Whitefish Bay area and he also grew up there.

“Well, I think other people would tell you the same thing, that if you’re privileged enough to grow up here and be so proud of coming from Milwaukee and then to get opportunities in hockey coming from here, it’s it’s wonderful,” Zito said, per Zoie Henry of wisn.com.
“And I just wanted to bring the cup back and say thank you to everybody and let the family and friends and the community enjoy with me,” Zito added.

The Panthers defeated the Edmonton Oilers in the 2024 Stanley Cup in seven games. They were on the verge of sweeping Connor McDavid and the Oilers when they won three games in a row to start the series, but Edmonton won the next three games to force Game 7 where Florida took care of business in a 2-1, title-clinching victory.
The Bucks did not have as good of a postseason, though. Giannis Antetokounmpo and company struck out of the first round of the 2024 NBA Playoffs after losing to the Indiana Pacers in five games.
