It has been a pretty silent offseason so far for the Milwaukee Bucks compared to other teams in the league. They did sign some new faces like Gary Trent Jr., Taurean Prince, and Delon Wright but none of those moves can be described as a huge splash. But the Bucks can still make some noise, even on the trade front.
Milwaukee Bucks Can Target A Chicago Bulls Guard This Offseason
To that end, Dalton Sell of Behind the Buck Pass suggested that the Bucks should go after someone like Chicago Bulls guard Ayo Dosunmu.
“Youth, athleticism, scoring, shooting, playmaking, defense, and a reasonable contract: Ayo Dosunmu has it all in terms of what the Milwaukee Bucks should be searching for in any possible new addition. There’s a reason he’s been linked to the team in so many mock trades and scenarios in their pursuit of more upgrades to the roster.”
Ayo Dosunmu’s Defense Is Guard’s Big Asset
Dosunmu is still just 24 years old and will not turn 25 until next January. There is still plenty of room to grow for the former Illinois Fighting Illini star guard. While not a big-time scorer, Dosunmu is among the rising defensive weapons in the league who could fit right in with Milwaukee, which finished the 2023-24 NBA season just 21st in the league with 116.1 points allowed per game.
“By far his most desirable attribute is his defense. At 6-foot-5 with a 6-foot-10.25 wingspan, the guard has a unique build that has allowed him to blossom into a strong defender. Even at just 24 years old, he developed into a primary defender for the Chicago Bulls this past season, oftentimes taking on the toughest opposing guard.”
Dosunmu has two more years left in his contract, including the one covering his 2024-25 campaign. He signed a three-year deal worth $21 million with the Bulls in 2023, paying him $7 million in the 2024-25 season and $7.518 million in the 2025-26 campaign.
