The Milwaukee Bucks have a number of decisions to make during the 2023 off-season. They have, however, made a decision on their biggest question mark of the off-season. After their series-opening loss to the Miami Heat, the Bucks took a new direction with their franchise. The Bucks moved on from their head coach Mike Budenholzer, to start, and hired Adrian Griffin to replace him. Now the Bucks need to figure out what they are going to do with their roster going forward, and one significant name is Center Brook Lopez.
Milwaukee Bucks Expected Will Have A Tall Task In Re-Signing Brook Lopez Due To Houston Rockets
On Tuesday, Yahoo Sports NBA insider Jake Fischer revealed that the Milwaukee Bucks may have an impossible task of re-signing C Brook Lopez:
When it comes to Brook Lopez, there is no clear indicator of how the Bucks feel about the talented scorer, but Fischer revealed Houston is expected to pursue him on the open market. With the Rockets expected to have around $60 million in salary cap space and Lopez likely looking for one last big contract, it could prove nearly impossible for the Milwaukee Bucks to re-sign both Middleton and Lopez this summer.
It was already reported that the Milwaukee Bucks intend on brining Khris Middleton back on a long-term deal. That may make it nearly impossible for the Bucks to pay Lopez what he is worth on the open market, especially when a team like the Rockets are heavily interested. If the Milwaukee Bucks do in fact lose Lopez to free agency, they will need to fill a defensive, post scorer, and perimeter scorer role all at once.
