The Milwaukee Bucks started the season 1-6, an unfortunate run that included a six-game losing streak. During that initial valley, many believed that superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo would demand a trade out of Milwaukee so that he could go and win elsewhere. Of course, these kinds of rumors have been swirling for years and, regardless of how successful the Bucks are, will continue.
That being said, Milwaukee has clawed its way back and stands at 8-9 currently. They have won four games in a row, thanks in large part to the brilliant play of their two-time NBA MVP. Giannis actually was just named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week after averaging 32.5 points, 10.8 rebounds, and 7.3 assists per game in his last four games:

With the Bucks all of a sudden in the thick of a below average Eastern Conference, many are coming around to the idea that Milwaukee would be better off adding talent instead of trading it away (well, to an extent).
NBA Analyst Names Tyler Herro as a Trade Target for the Milwaukee Bucks
In a recent article posted on Bleacher Report, NBA analyst Greg Schwartz listed three players each NBA team should be interested in trading for. While he notes that the Golden State Warriors will inquire about Giannis and the Miami Heat about Damian Lillard (because, of course), he does not seriously entertain the notion that Milwaukee trades either superstar.
However, if the Bucks were to trade Lillard (they won’t, especially considering the chemistry he is developing with Giannis), Schwartz suggests Milwaukee native and Whitnall High School star Tyler Herro as a potential replacement:
“At 24, Herro is a decade younger than Lillard and could help keep Giannis Antetokounmpo happy for years to come. He’s averaging 24.2 points, 4.9 rebounds, 5.2 assists and shooting 45.2 percent from three this season for the Heat.”
As fans native to Milwaukee and Wisconsin recall, Herro spurned the Wisconsin Badgers in favor of Kentucky when he was being recruited. Many fans have not forgotten nor forgiven his snub of his home state school.
Would the Milwaukee Bucks Trade for Tyler Herro?
On paper, Herro makes a lot of sense for the Bucks considering his youth and above-average scoring abilities, especially from three. However, “on paper” does not accomplish much on the court.
The fact of the matter is that trading away Lillard, at this point, would do more harm than good to the Bucks organization. Not only would it interrupt the chemistry-building process, but it would infuriate Giannis, who has praised how well Lillard communicates with him and helps make him better.
Herro may be good, but he is no Lillard.
