The Milwaukee Bucks did everything in their power to create the best roster possible to help Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard make a deep postseason run.
The front office understands that while Giannis’ injuries hurt their chances of making a deep postseason run, the roster wasn’t competitive enough to contain a young and exciting Indiana Pacers team.
Not only did they draft an exciting prospect in AJ Johnson, but they also made several exciting free-agency signings in Taurean Prince, Gary Trent, Jr., and Delon Wright.
While some may think that the Bucks made improvements to their overall roster, the front office isn’t resting on their laurels. They also added a pair of promising players to fight for positions in the squad in training camp.
Milwaukee Bucks sign James Akinjo and Liam Robbins for team’s training camp
Dairyland Express’ Cem Yolbulan writes that in an effort to find the best possible talent for their squad, the Milwaukee Bucks have signed two promising players who haven’t seen a minute of NBA action in their careers.
He shares details about undrafted rookies James Akinjo and Liam Robbins:
Both Akinjo and Robbins have been on training camp deals with other teams but they haven’t made their debuts in the NBA yet. Akinjo is a 6-foot-1 guard who has struggled with efficiency throughout his basketball career. An undrafted free agent from the 2022 NBA Draft, Akinjo spent time with the Knicks before finishing last season with the Wisconsin Herd and averaging 9.7 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game in 21.3 minutes of action.
Robbins is a 7-footer from Waukesha, Wisconsin, who spent five years at college between Drake, Minnesota, and Vanderbilt. After going undrafted in the 2023 NBA Draft, he spent a brief time with the New Orleans Pelicans before suffering a season-ending injury in January that prevented him from appearing in a G League game.
Both players will be relishing the opportunity to play for a contender and will give their everything to steal the spot of one of the underperforming players in the Milwaukee Bucks roster. Whether they manage to force their way into the league is an entirely different matter, though.
