Milwaukee Bucks already have 16 players on the roster after the re-signing of Thanasis Antetokounmpo who took one season off to deal with ACL injury. Although his arrival put Bucks fans’ hearts at ease as it suggests Giannis is here to stay, it still did not answer the one glaring hole in the squad according to analysts.

The team will come to the 2025-26 season with just one star after waiving Damian Lillard. Many thought there will have a heavy burden on the Greek Freak’s shoulder as he will have to do almost everything without a star backup, without an elite level point guard.
A trade proposal might answer that.
Fade Away World proposed that the Bucks acquire Sacramento Kings shooting guard DeMar Derozan and get rid of 2025 playoffs underperformer Kyle Kuzma. Chris Livingston should also be included in the package.

The website wrote:
Acquiring DeMar DeRozan could be in Milwaukee’s best interests, while also being mutually beneficial for the six-time All-Star.
DeRozan has established himself as a score-first player. Whether it’s in the capacity of a guard or a forward, he has proven himself to be a capable offensive threat in various situations, although his preference for the midpost/midrange is notable.
Milwaukee Bucks letting Kyle Kuzma go?
Kuzma started popular among Bucks fans with his great start with them. Head coach Doc Rivers thought he fit easily with the squad and even produced good numbers. At one point, the team were on a winning streak and he even had to comment how he missed that feeling.
Everything changed, however, in the last few regular season games when head coach Doc Rivers was forced to bench him along with other starters for their inability to produce alongside Antetokounmpo. The Greek Freak even thought that the bench players could also be their starters.

Rivers remained patient about him in the playoffs. He said they were just not moving ball enough. That’s the road he will be taking, too, in the new season.
As for Kuzma, he remains determined that he can redeem himself with the Bucks and believes he can do better.
“I didn’t play how I wanted to play. This offseason, it’s just like get to the fundamentals, getting back to the basic, being able to have a healthy summer, which I really didn’t have last summer, which I’m excited to attack.”
Bucks’ current roster suggests that are going to run it back with Kuzma still in the starting five.
