When it’s all said and done, it’s very much possible that Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo finishes as one of the greatest players of all time. As a matter of fact, more than a few folks already have the Greek Freak in their all-time Top 5 at this point in his career.
For Antetokounmpo himself, however, the former back-to-back MVP is adamant that he hasn’t done enough to earn this honor. In fact, he doesn’t believe he’s even worthy of his own Top 5 list.
Milwaukee Bucks Star Giannis Antetokounmpo Names Top 5 GOATs
In a recent interview with Bally Sports Wisconsin, Antetokounmpo was asked to name his five greatest players of all time. He didn’t even consider including himself on his own list, instead naming a rather unusual quintet combination:
“I’m not putting them in order,” Giannis said. “[Michael Jordan], LeBron, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Bill Russell, Tim Duncan.”
Giannis then walked back on the fifth player on the list. Tim Duncan is undeniably one of the greatest big men to ever grace the NBA, but in his mind, Antetokounmpo decided to give up Duncan’s slot on his Top 5 in favor of another legendary center:
“Tim Duncan or Shaq. That’s my 5. Probably say Shaq. Dominant,” Giannis concluded.
You can’t really blame him.
