Ryan Rollins has grown into a serviceable rotation guy for the Milwaukee Bucks this season but the clock is ticking for them and they need to answer the question of whether he is indeed an NBAer or not.
Rollins, who is on a two-way deal with the team, plays 12 minutes per game this season and averages 4.5 points per game.
The team still has one roster spot and it is still unknown if they will use it for a new player or convert Rollins’ non-guaranteed deal.
As for the 22-year-old guard, he thinks he deserves to get a full contract.
“I feel confident that I put in enough work and proved myself to be able to convert myself,” he said after the team’s loss to the Houston Rockets.
“I feel like that’s the biggest part, just me knowing myself first and feeling like I’m able. I feel like I deserve it, like I earned it. Like I say, whatever happens, happens.”
According to NBA rules, a two-way player can only play 50 games for an NBA team. Rollins has played 39 games so far.
Teams need to decide whether they will welcome these two-way players as part of the main team or lose them.
The last day the Bucks can give him a full contract is in April 13.

The Bucks still has one roster spot and for Rollins, Doc Rivers said he needs to prove that he deserves it.
“Listen, we’re going to play who needs to play and if at some point we need to make a change we will. If he proves that. This is a competition always. And if not we’ll try to save as many days as we can,” the coach said two month ago.
Rollins fulfills his role as a starter whenever Damian Lillard is out of the line-up. He started in seven games so far and averafged 9.7 points, 3.4 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 2.0 steals in that prominent role.
However, his minutes dwindled after the All-Star break due to the arrival of Kevin Porter Jr. who became an instant contributor to the team.
