The Milwaukee Bucks faced Damian Lillard’s former team, the Portland Trail Blazers, at home on Sunday night. Milwaukee trailed by as many as 26 points in the contest, but they rallied to win the game over Portland by a final score of 108-102.
With the win, Milwaukee improves to 12-5 on the season. With the loss, Portland falls to 4-12 on the season. This was a huge win for the Bucks because it comes against a bad team and it also shows they can come back from adversity at any point in the basketball game.
Damian Lillard had a big game against his former team. He scored 31 points and also grabbed five rebounds, recorded four assists, and recorded two steals. Lillard facing his former team felt strange to him. He told the media about not going into the visiting locker room before the game on Sunday night:
“Once I walked in, I saw a lot of familiar faces, I thought about going in the visitors locker room for a second, but I was like, man, this a little bit different. When we got on the court, I saw everybody, and it’s a weird feeling. But once we started playing, I got over it quick.”
Lillard was loyal to the Portland Trail Blazers organization for the longest time before being traded this offseason.
Along with Milwaukee Bucks Damian Lillard Playing Well Against His Former Team, Giannis Antetokounmpo Shines Once Again for the Bucks
Lillard wasn’t the only player on Sunday night who scored over 30 points against the Portland Trail Blazers. Giannis Antetokounmpo had another monster game for Milwaukee. He scored 33 points, grabbed 16 rebounds, recorded six assists, blocked three shots, and recorded one steal.
Antetokounmpo has been on a tear over the last nine games and has been playing at an MVP level this season for the Milwaukee Bucks. The pairing of Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard will be one of the reasons why Milwaukee will never be out of basketball games.
Their offense is going to lead them to many wins this season and maybe a deep playoff run. A win is a win no matter how it gets done.
