Even though the Milwaukee Bucks’ frontcourt rotation is already set, having a backup big man who can grab rebounds and contest shots will always be welcome. In this case, selecting Baylor’s Yves Missi can be a good addition to the team, if the latest mock draft from the New York Post is to be believed.
Before moving to the United States in 2021, Missi was born in Belgium and grew up later in Cameroon. He then joined West Nottingham Academy’s high school basketball program and was counted among the best young players in 2023.

After his stellar high school run, Missi committed to play for the Baylor Bears. In the 34 Big-12 games he played, 32 as the starting center, the big man averaged 10.7 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks per contest. Subsequently, he notched 11.1 points, 5.0 boards, and 1.2 blocks in the 18 games Missi played in the NCAA Tournament.
After his one-year run in Baylor, Missi decided to forego his time playing in college to declare for the NBA. During that period, the Bear’s big man earned Big-12 All-Freshman and All-Defensive honors.
Milwaukee Bucks Get Baylor Center Yves Missi in Latest Mock NBA Draft

As it stands, the Bucks have two picks in the upcoming draft. Apart from selecting a point guard like Alabama star Mark Sears or USC’s Isaiah Collier, the front office can go for Missi, as projected by Brian Lewis’ latest mock draft for the New York Post.
“For a team that finished as high as Milwaukee did, they actually have several needs. The Bucks will likely go best-available rather than pick for need, and Missi would be that. Despite conditioning questions and being raw after playing organized basketball for just three years, he could provide a 7-10 ³/₄ wingspan, verticality and rim protection when Brook Lopez, now 36, takes a breather,” Lewis wrote.
As it stands, Brook Lopez is the only true center in Milwaukee’s rotation this season. If the front office aren’t getting a reserve big man in free agency, selecting Missi for the job might play out well down the line.

It remains to be seen what moves Milwaukee will make before, during, and after the upcoming NBA draft. But if they need a center who grow with the team, Missi might be the answer for the Bucks.
