While the Milwaukee Bucks ended their run last season on a disappointing note, they now have a chance to do better when the NBA returns soon. That journey will start in the preseason as the Giannis Antetokounmpo-led team and their games will be broadcasted on national television.
The Bucks are facing a challenging 2024-25 schedule, which has been described as both brutal and disrespectful. After a notable absence from Christmas Day games for the first time in six years, the Bucks kick off their season with a tough series of matchups. Their initial slate includes significant opponents like the Philadelphia 76ers, Boston Celtics, and Memphis Grizzlies, with four of their first seven games taking place away from home.
While November offers a slightly easier stretch with more home games, the grind intensifies as the All-Star break approaches. The Bucks will have to navigate a difficult road itinerary, featuring nine away games in 13 contests leading up to the All-Star Game, including two back-to-back matchups. This demanding schedule could test the team’s focus and veteran experience.
March presents another wave of challenges, starting with a series of games against last season’s playoff teams. The Bucks will also embark on a taxing five-game West Coast road trip, which will put additional strain on the roster. Compounding these challenges is the increase in back-to-back games, rising from 14 to 16 this season, which could be tough for an aging team.
Despite these obstacles, the Bucks are determined to prove their critics wrong. They recognize the need to overcome adversity and maintain their competitive edge throughout the season, all while seeking to reclaim their stature in the league.

The Bucks’ first match will be against the Detroit Pistons on October 6. The following game will see Antetokounmpo and company go up against Luka Doncic’s Dallas Mavericks on October 17. Both of these matches will see Milwaukee play away from home.
It remains to be seen how the Bucks will hold up against the Pistons and Mavericks around a month from now. If things go well, they can score some early victories to set their momentum for the upcoming season.
