In around a month or so, the NBA will return for a new season and the Milwaukee Bucks will try to make a run at another ring. To make that happen, they may make some moves involving several players in the lineup.
The Bucks are looking to bounce back in the 2024-25 season after a disappointing previous campaign. Following a strong start with a 30-13 record, the team faced challenges that led to the firing of head coach Adrian Griffin and the hiring of Doc Rivers, who struggled with a 17-19 finish. The Bucks were ultimately eliminated in the first round of the playoffs by the Indiana Pacers, plagued by injuries to key players like Damian Lillard and Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Heading into this season, the Bucks hope that continuity in the Lillard-Antetokounmpo pairing will yield better results. They open their season against the Philadelphia 76ers on October 23, 2024, and are viewed as one of the teams capable of challenging the defending champion Boston Celtics.
Their matchups against the Celtics and 76ers will be pivotal in determining their playoff positioning. If everything aligns, the Bucks could thrive, but inconsistencies could hinder their prospects. A record prediction of 52-30 reflects the uncertainty, highlighting the potential for both success and challenges as they aim for a deeper playoff run this year.
Milwaukee Bucks Identifies Most Desirable NBA Trade Assets Ahead of 2024-25 Season
With the trade deadline set next year, there’s still time for the Bucks to make the most of their assets. As it stands, these were identified in an NBA analysis by Bleacher Report’s Greg Swartz.
Best Trade Assets: F Bobby Portis, SG AJ Johnson, 2031 first-round pick
Untouchables: F Giannis Antetokounmpo, PG Damian Lillard
The Milwaukee Bucks traded the farm for Jrue Holiday then proceeded to trade Holiday and more for Lillard. Bucks fans have to hope this roster can stay healthy, because no major outside help is coming, especially with Milwaukee crossing into second apron land.
The Bucks have a talented roster, featuring superstars and strong role players like Khris Middleton, Brook Lopez, and Bobby Portis. However, questions remain about the chemistry between Lillard and Antetokounmpo, Middleton’s injury history, and Rivers’ ability to lead effectively.
If things don’t work out, expect the said trade assets to be dealt with as the season progresses. Hopefully, these potential moves can make the Bucks credible contenders for the championship.
