Khris Middleton is already 32 years old and is nearing the end of his prime. The thing is, the Milwaukee Bucks may have found their replacement for the All-Star wing if they make the move to select Miami Hurricanes star Kyshawn George.
George, an international prospect, spent his freshman year with the Miami Hurricanes, showcasing a unique blend of skills and physical attributes. Standing at 6’8″ with a 6’10” wingspan and an 8’9″ stand and reach, he possesses the size and length of an NBA forward, coupled with the instincts of a guard.

While George may not immediately excel at the professional level, he has the potential to develop into a valuable NBA player. His natural offensive and defensive abilities, combined with his versatility as a passer, suggest he could become a well-rounded contributor. However, his shot mechanics, which are a bit slow and low, may limit his ability to consistently create scoring opportunities for himself.
Despite these areas for improvement, George’s overall game savvy and basketball IQ could make him a valuable asset for an NBA team. His floor may be that of a non-rotational bench player who understands the game but struggles to score consistently. Yet, his ceiling could approach that of an All-Star like Khris Middleton if he can refine his offensive skills and reach his full potential.
Milwaukee Bucks Named Potential Landing Spot For Kyshawn George In NBA 2024 Draft

Within a few years, Middleton would either be traded or his performance will decline. In any case, the Bucks can prepare for that scenario by selecting George, as detailed in an article by Michael Sotto for Hoops Hype.
“The Milwaukee Bucks could land their eventual Khris Middleton replacement with sharpshooting guard Kyshawn George, who nailed 40.8 percent of his three-point attempts in college.
George, a Switzerland native who played in France before attending Miami, discussed the differences he saw in playing style from overseas to the United States.
“The players here are more individualistic and less reliant on set systems to get shots,” George told HoopsHype at the NBA Draft Combine in Chicago. “The speed of the game is also noticeably different,” Sotto wrote.
If given a chance by Milwaukee’s front office and head coach Doc Rivers, George can blossom into a capable 3-and-D wing for the Bucks. Just last season, Middleton averaged 15.1 points on 38 percent shooting from deep, 4.7 rebounds, and 5.3 assists. If the Miami star can reach that kind of production, the team will end up with a keeper.

It remains to be seen whether Milwaukee uses one of its picks to select George. Nevertheless, the upside he brings to the table warrants some consideration from the team.
