Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo is currently halfway across the globe to compete with the Greece national squad in the Paris Olympics. This is, without a doubt, the highlight of the former back-to-back MVP’s summer as he hopes to lead his team to a strong push for a podium finish in the most prestigious international tournament of all.
The Bucks are all-in in supporting their cornerstone superstar, too. A testament to this fact is how head coach Doc Rivers and general manager Jon Horst flew all the way to France to watch Giannis play live on Saturday against a powerhouse Canada side.
Milwaukee Bucks News: Doc Rivers, Jon Horst Fly to Paris to Support Giannis Antetokounmpo
It was Giannis’ mother, Veronica Antetokounmpo, who shared a photo of herself with Rivers and Horst in the stands during Saturday’s matchup between Greece and Canada. The trio were all smiles as they watched Giannis put on a show against the Canadians.

Unfortunately, despite Antetokounmpo’s massive effort, the Greeks still fell in their Olympic opener, 86-79. Not even Giannis’ game-high 34 points were enough to lift Greece against the likes of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (21 points, seven assists) and RJ Barrett (23 points, four rebounds), to name a couple.
Giannis and Co. will want to bounce back from this loss quickly as they face off against Spain on Monday in their second of three opening-round games.
