The Milwaukee Bucks have been very supportive of Giannis Antetokounmpo as the two-time NBA MVP embarks on his mission to bring home a gold medal for Greece. A testament to this fact is how general manager Jon Horst and head coach Doc Rivers flew halfway across the globe to support Giannis in the Paris Olympics.
Unfortunately, Antetokounmpo was unable to lead his team to victory in their opening game on Sunday. Greece just wasn’t good enough against a star-studded Canada squad, who ended up securing a crucial victory, 86-79.
Milwaukee Bucks’ Message for Giannis Antetokounmpo
Win or lose, Milwaukee’s loyalty to Antetokounmpo will never waver. The team sent a strong message to their talisman after his 34-point explosion in the loss — one that exhibits the Bucks’ unwavering faith in the former back-to-back NBA MVP.
“What an effort from Giannis,” the team said on X, formerly Twitter.
What an effort from Giannis.

Antetokounmpo did all he could here, but it simply just wasn’t enough. Nevertheless, you can’t fault the 29-year-old for a lack of effort.
In a succeeding post, the Bucks also shared a photo of Anteotkounmp]o during the game which perfectly embodied his effort on Sunday. In the said picture, Giannis is seen going up against three Canadian players, including MVP candidate Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Unfortunately, the harsh reality is that Greece does not have enough quality on its roster. There’s no denying that they will need to rely heavily on Antetokounmpo the rest of the way, starting with Monday’s crucial contest against Spain.
