Much like All-Star point guard Damian Lillard, Giannis Antetokounmpo’s NBA 2K25 ranking has been released to the public. In turn, Bleacher Report analyzed whether the grade the Greek Freak received was just right or might need some tweaking.
NBA 2K25 has unveiled its top player ratings, sparking discussions among fans about the league’s best talents. Topping the list is Denver Nuggets’ Nikola Jokic, who maintains a 97 overall rating following an impressive season that included his third MVP award and standout performances in the Olympics. He averaged 26.4 points, 12.4 rebounds, and 9.0 assists for the Denver Nuggets.
Close behind, Luka Doncic had a 97 rating because of a remarkable season, scoring an average of 33.9 points while showcasing his playmaking skills. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Joel Embiid follow with a 96 rating each. Gilgeous-Alexander emerged as a superstar, averaging over 30 points per game, while Embiid, despite injury setbacks, delivered jaw-dropping performances when healthy.
LeBron James, at 95, continues to impress in his 22nd NBA season, demonstrating his longevity and skill. He is joined by Stephen Curry and Jayson Tatum, who also hold a 95 rating. Tatum’s outstanding season culminated in an NBA Championship, solidifying his status among the elite.
Rounding out the list are Kevin Durant and Anthony Davis, both rated at 94. Davis enjoyed a healthy season, while Durant remained a scoring powerhouse for the Phoenix Suns. This lineup reflects the fierce competition and talent in the league as the new season approaches.
Bleacher Report Rates Milwaukee Bucks Star Giannis Antetokounmpo’s NBA 2K25 Ranking
Along with Doncic, Antetokounmpo also scored a 97 rating from NBA 2K25. According to an article written by Andy Bailey for Bleacher Report, there may be a reason for his ranking in the said video game.
“Maybe it was Greece’s underwhelming Olympic tournament (which had more to do with his teammates than him). Maybe it’s multiple underwhelming postseasons since winning it all in 2021. Maybe it was the coaching turmoil in 2023-24. Maybe it’s the fact that he missed the playoffs altogether with an injury in 2024.
For whatever reason, the general consensus on two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo seems to be a little lower than it should be (at least outside 2K).
Just this week, NBA legend Kevin Garnett claimed Giannis isn’t the best player in the Eastern Conference (and mentioned Tatum as a player who’s ahead of him),” Bailey wrote.
Last season, Antetokounmpo averaged 30.4 points, 11.5 rebounds, and 6.5 assists. However, a calf injury sidelined him throughout the playoffs, leading the Bucks to get eliminated by the Indiana Pacers.
The coming season will be an opportunity for Antetokounmpo to reclaim a higher spot in future editions of NBA 2K. If successful, the Bucks star can leapfrog over other stars and get back his old dominant self down the line.
