1 Milwaukee Bucks Move Rated as Low-Key Huge Win This Offseason

While other teams made a big splash during the offseason, the Milwaukee Bucks had a relatively quiet period. The thing is, their signing of Gary Trent Jr. was recently named as a low-key huge win for the franchise and a move that elevated the whole team.

Trent Jr. is set to reunite with Damian Lillard in Milwaukee, marking an exciting development for the Bucks. This move not only strengthens the team’s roster but also brings together two players who have previously showcased their chemistry on the court.

Known for his scoring ability and defensive skills, Trent is expected to make a significant impact in Milwaukee. His addition complements Lillard’s playmaking and leadership, creating a formidable backcourt duo. With Trent’s knack for shooting and Lillard’s dynamic play, the Bucks are poised to enhance their offensive capabilities.

The collaboration between these two players is particularly noteworthy given their shared history in Portland. During their time together, they developed a strong on-court rapport, which could translate effectively into their new environment. Trent’s versatility allows him to adapt to various positions, making him a valuable asset for the Bucks as they aim for a deep playoff run.

Unlike other big deals made during the offseason, Milwaukee’s acquisition of Trent wasn’t seen as a big move. In any case, it was still a good one, as noted by Greg Swartz’ analysis for Bleacher Report.

“The signing of Trent, 25, is a breath of fresh air for a Milwaukee team that’s only aging further out of its collective prime.

The 6’5″ shooting guard is essentially guaranteed a starting job next to Lillard, his former Portland Trail Blazers teammate. Trent averaged 15.9 points and shot 40.3 percent from three in 41 starts for the Toronto Raptors last year and has put up as many as 18.3 points per game in a season.

The Raptors’ offense jumped by 5.9 points per 100 possessions with Trent in the game (90th percentile, via Cleaning the Glass) and the fifth-year pro is especially dangerous as a floor-spacer, knocking down 43.1 percent of his catch-and-shoot threes last season.

Players like Antetokounmpo and Lillard are still going to draw a ton of defensive attention, meaning the Duke product should see the most open looks of his career to date.

With good health and the addition of Trent, the Bucks should be able to remain near the top of the East,” Sell wrote.

Milwaukee has been actively seeking to bolster its lineup, especially following recent playoff disappointments. The combination of Lillard and Trent could provide the necessary firepower to elevate the team’s performance this season.

As the new NBA season approaches, the anticipation builds around the Bucks’ revamped roster. With Trent joining Lillard, Milwaukee could emerge as a serious contender in the Eastern Conference. This partnership not only excites fans but also signals the Bucks’ commitment to competing at the highest level in the league.
