There’s no denying how effective Brook Lopez has been during his stint as the Milwaukee Bucks’ starting center. The thing is, the former Brooklyn Nets star has never made an All-NBA team, even though he has amassed a lot of points during his career.
Lopez is a prominent veteran known for his exceptional skills as a center. Drafted as the 10th overall pick in the 2008 NBA Draft by the New Jersey Nets, he quickly made his mark, becoming the franchise’s all-time leading scorer during his nine seasons with the team. His early career featured impressive performances, earning him a spot on the All-Rookie First Team and recognition as a potential star.
Lopez faced challenges with injuries during his career, notably missing significant time in the 2011-2012 season due to a foot injury. However, he rebounded strongly, achieving his first All-Star selection in 2013. After a brief stint with the Los Angeles Lakers, he joined the Milwaukee Bucks in 2018, where he transformed his game to become a reliable three-point shooter, earning the nickname Splash Mountain.
In 2021, Lopez contributed significantly to the Bucks’ championship run, marking a high point in his career. He has also been recognized for his defensive prowess, making the NBA All-Defensive Team in 2020 and 2023. Throughout his career, Lopez has demonstrated versatility and resilience, adapting his playing style and continuing to excel at a high level in the league. His journey reflects not only talent but also the ability to overcome adversity and evolve as a player.
