Even though the Milwaukee Bucks will have a full offseason to prepare, there will still be some part of the upcoming campaign that’s going to be harder than the usual. According to an NBA analysis, though, that period will come in before the playoffs commence.
The Bucks will tip off their campaign on October 22nd, 2024, taking on the defending NBA champions, the Los Angeles Lakers, at Fiserv Forum. This highly anticipated matchup will set the tone for the Bucks’ quest to reclaim the championship title they won in 2021.
The team’s schedule features several marquee matchups, including a Christmas Day showdown against the golden state warriors and a New Year’s Eve clash with the Brooklyn Nets. The Bucks will also embark on a five-game West Coast road trip in early January, testing their mettle against some of the league’s toughest opponents.
Notable home games include a visit from the rising Phoenix Suns on November 15th and a clash with the perennial playoff contenders, the Boston Celtics, on February 28th. Fans can also look forward to the return of the popular Cream City uniforms, which will be worn for select home games throughout the season.
Milwaukee Bucks’ 2024-25 NBA Season Schedule Assessed
The announcement of Milwaukee’s schedule next season has given fans a glimpse of how challenging their upcoming campaign will be. In an article written by Nathan Marzion for Behind the Buck Pass, that period is towards the end of the regular season.
“Similar to last season, the toughest part of the Milwaukee Bucks’ schedule comes at the end. The final month and a half of the season will be a big test for Milwaukee as they ramp up for the playoffs. From March 1 until April 11, a whopping 19 of the Bucks’ 21 games come against teams that had a winning record last season.
They have a plethora of difficult opponents both at home (Mavericks, Magic, Cavaliers, Lakers, Pacers, Thunder, Knicks, Suns, Timberwolves, and Pelicans) and on the road (Mavericks, Pacers, Lakers, Warriors, Kings, Suns, Nuggets, Sixers, and Heat).
There are also several back-to-backs. The Bucks have a back-to-back against the Magic and Cavaliers in early March, another against the Pacers and Thunder in mid-March and a third against the Timberwolves and Pelicans in April. The only bright spot is that all of these back-to-backs come at home,” Marzion wrote.
Last season, the Bucks clinched their eighth straight playoff berth, but two-time Giannis Antetokounmpo‘s calf injury sidelined him for the first-round matchup against the Indiana Pacers. With All-Star Damian Lillard also missing games, the short-handed Bucks were upset in six games, suffering an early postseason exit for the second consecutive year.
The 2024-25 campaign promises to be an exhilarating one for Bucks fans, with the team poised to build on their recent success and compete for another NBA championship. The revamped roster, led by the dynamic duo of Antetokounmpo and Lillard, is sure to provide thrilling moments and unforgettable memories for Bucks fans.
