The Milwaukee Bucks made waves in the NBA coaching world when they fired head coach Mike Budenholzer after a disappointing elimination in the opening round of the Playoffs to the Miami Heat. According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Bucks are looking to that same Heat team for a possible replacement for the head coach position in Milwaukee.
The Milwaukee Bucks received permission to interview Miami Heat assistant Chris Quinn for the franchise’s coaching job, sources tell ESPN. Quinn has emerged on Erik Spoelstra’s staff as a candidate for several recent openings.

Chris Quinn, Erik Spoelstra’s top assistant, has been considered a name on the rise for a couple of years now. If he is not hired by the Bucks, chances are that he will land one of the many high-profile jobs that are open right now.
The Milwaukee Bucks Could Get the Next Erik Spoelstra If They Hire the Miami Heat’s Chris Quinn

If the Bucks end up hiring Quinn, they will be getting a carbon copy of Erik Spoelstra, a head coach who has won two NBA Championships leading the Heat. Additionally, he has led Miami to three other NBA Finals appearances. Obviously, Spoelstra is not going to be on the market anytime soon. However, if the Bucks (or any team) want the next best thing, Quinn would be the guy to go get.
In March of 2022, Spoelstra was put in the NBA’s health and safety protocols. As a result, Quinn took over as head coach for a game. As his own players said to The Miami Herald, he was the exact voice of the two-time Champion coach:
“When you listen to Quinny, you’re hearing Spo. It’s the same message. He has the knowledge, the experience, the relationship with the players. He has every base covered when you talk about checking the boxes to have the ability to be a successful head coach.”
The Bucks need a guy who can check all of the boxes, and it sounds like Quinn might be that guy.
