The Milwaukee Bucks have willed their way to a 9-9 record following a stagnant 2-8 start to the 2024-25 NBA season. At the start of the new campaign, the Bucks were at No. 11 in the league’s Power Rankings, after a 1-3 record in the first week. The team beat the Philadelphia 76ers in their season opener but failed to use their winning momentum in the succeeding games.
In Week 2 of the Power Rankings, Milwaukee dropped to the 19th spot. This was due to their tough schedule, which included twice facing the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Memphis Grizzlies. It got worse for the Bucks in Week 3, as they reached No. 26 in the league.
Week 4 was a comforting look to the team as they rose to No. 24. Although it wasn’t a significant improvement, it was the start of better things for the Bucks. Milwaukee stayed in the same range and ended the week at number 25 the following week. But Giannis Antetokounmpo and his team made a huge leap up the rankings and were ranked No. 15 in the most recent Power Rankings.
On Wednesday’s episode of “Run It Back,” former NBA player Chandler Parsons spoke highly of what the Bucks have achieved in turning their season around.
“Giannis and Dame, they have turned the corner, in my opinion,” Parsons said.
“This team has shown so much growth. [Brook] Lopez to me has been a huge factor. He wasn’t making shots earlier. Now he’s stepping up, getting a little bit more production from their bench. Damian Lillard’s doing Damian Lillard things… This is a huge confidence boost going forward for this team.”
Bucks have turned a corner.

The Bucks are on a five-game winning streak, following their 106-103 win over the Miami Heat on Tuesday without All-Star forward Giannis Antetokounmpo. They are set to return to action on Saturday against the Washington Wizards.
Which player has performed the best during the Milwaukee Bucks’ five-game win streak?
The Milwaukee Bucks’ five-game win streak comes down to three players. First, Giannis has performed some of his best games during the current streak. However, he hasn’t played in all five games as he missed their NBA Cup Game against the Heat on Tuesday. During the span, the 2021 champion has averaged 32.5 points, 10.8 rebounds and 7.3 assists.
Conversely, Damian Lillard has participated in all five games and performed admirably. He has averaged 26.0 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 9.8 assists, similar to his regular season statistics.
The Bucks’ center Brook Lopez, has increased his productivity. In the last five games, he’s averaged 17.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.4 blocks. Before that, Lopez was putting up 10.5 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.3 blocks.
