The trade deadline is fast approaching, and the Milwaukee Bucks aren’t done yet after firing Adrian Griffin as their head coach. It turns out that Magic Johnson has urged the team and other franchises in the league to make a move before the deadline ends.
At this point in time, the Milwaukee Bucks are second in the Eastern Conference with a 30-13 record, just behind the top-seeded Boston Celtics. With the All-Star duo of Antetokounmpo and Lillard leading the way, the team is projected to enter the playoffs in a good position.
Meanwhile, other teams have already started making trades well before the deadline next month. The Toronto Raptors have sent OG Anunoby to the New York Knicks in exchange for a package headlined by RJ Barrett and Immanuel Quickley.
What the Bucks will do remains to be seen, as well as how they will follow Johnson’s recommendation to make a move soon.
Magic Johnson Implores Milwaukee Bucks and Other Teams to Make Their Move Before Trade Deadline
Magic Johnson, for his part, has not only urged the Milwaukee Bucks to move now before the trade deadline. The Los Angeles Lakers’ legendary point guard has also mentioned in a tweet that teams like the Philadelphia 76ers, Cleveland Cavaliers, New York Knicks, and Atlanta Hawks need to make a trade sooner rather than later.
Meanwhile, in another tweet, Johnson looked at the landscape of the Western Conference and thought that the Denver Nuggets, Los Angeles Clippers, Minnesota Timberwolves, and Oklahoma City Thunder could stay put with their respective rosters.
The Los Angeles Lakers, New Orleans Pelicans, Phoenix Suns, Dallas Mavericks, Sacramento Kings, and Golden State Warriors, on the other hand, are in need of new talent now, according to Johnson.
Whether the Bucks listen to the All-Star point guard or not will be known by the end of the trade deadline on February 8.
