At this point in his career, there’s no denying that Milwaukee Bucks superstar Damian Lillard has firmly established himself as one of the top point guards in the history of the game. At 33, however, it’s also true that Dame is now nearing the twilight of his career.

In terms of the next generation of star point guards in the NBA, though, you can’t overlook the Sacramento Kings’ De’Aaron Fox. The 26-year-old is looking to take over the throne as one of the top PGs in the game, which is exactly why he relishes every opportunity to battle the old guards, so to speak.

In a recent appearance on NBA TV, Fox was asked to name the point guard he most looks forward to battling on the basketball court. The one-time All-Star could not pick just one, though, and he had to go with Dame Lillard and naturally, Golden State Warriors talisman Stephen Curry:

“That one for me, now, it’s Steph and Dame,” Fox said. “… Steph is 10 years older than me. I think Dame is eight or nine years older than me. So, being able to see those guys play in the league for so long, and then now, going in and match up with them.

“Dame gave me my ‘Welcome to the NBA’ moment. So, just being able to match up with those guys is definitely fun for me.”

Fox used to get the opportunity to face Lillard multiple times a season while the latter was still plying his trade out in the Western Conference with the Portland Trail Blazers. However, now that Dame is with the Bucks, Fox and the Kings get the opportunity to battle Lillard just twice this season.

That’s going to be on January 14th and March 12th, and you can be sure that Fox has those dates marked down on his calendar already.
