The chemistry between Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard are critical for the Milwaukee Bucks’ desire to win another NBA title in the 2020s. The duo has shown plenty of promise whenever they’re on the floor together, but Giannis sitting out due to injury robbed the Bucks of a chance to make a deep postseason run.
While the Bucks weren’t particularly active during the offseason, Jon Horst and the rest of the Bucks front office did everything they could to give the two the best supporting cast possible for the coming season. the road back to the Finals will be anything but easy for them.
because of the challenges they’ll face in the coming season, chemistry becomes more important than ever. The better the two superstars work together, the higher the odds of them making the Finals become. Cultivating a friendship is a quick way to build on-court chemistry, which is why many expected Dame to be present in Giannis’ wedding.
However, the point guard was nowhere to be seen in his teammate’s wedding, and the reason for his absence may surprise some Bucks fans.
Damian Lillard didn’t show to Giannis Antetokounmpo’s wedding to attend Maurice Harkless’ ceremony
It’s easy to think that Giannis invited his star teammate to be with him when he exchanges vows with his long-time girlfriend Riddlespringer. However, it seems like he had to choose between the Greek Freak’s wedding or another teammate’s nuptials which happened on the same day.
It became clear which wedding he chose to go to when he wasn’t in the premises of Giannis’ wedding.

A picture recently surfaced on social media, which indicated Lillard might have been at another wedding.
Well, turns out it was not Antetokounmpo’s wedding, but Moe Harkless‘. Evan Turner, who is with Lillard in that image, actually shared pictures from Harkless’ wedding on X.
It just so happened, that both the weddings were on Sept. 1, so Lillard had to pick between them and we know which one he chose. While that might be surprising as he is a teammate of Antetokounmpo’s, I assume he is a lot closer to Harkless, as they were teammates on the Portland Trail Blazers from 2015 to 2019.
The decision may not have been easy for Lillard as he definitely would have loved to be present in Antetokounmpo’s wedding. However, the bond he had with Harkless meant that he cannot miss the wedding of his former teammate.
Hopefully, this incident won’t cause a rift between the two as they work together to make a deep playoff run.
