The Milwaukee Bucks and the New York Knicks play two games in three days, which starts with a showdown on Saturday at the Madison Square Garden. You could say that this is a dressed rehearsal of sorts for their upcoming Christmas Day bout, which is part of the NBA’s massive slate of marquee matchups.
The Knicks have submitted their injury report for Saturday’s contest, and New York supporters will be glad to know that there aren’t any surprises.
Knicks Submit Injury Report for Bucks Showdown
The Knicks got some terrible news on the Mitchell Robinson front of late after it was confirmed that they now expect him to miss the remainder of the season due to an ankle injury. This was a tough blow for both the team and Robinson himself, who was initially given an 8-to-10-week timetable to return.
The 7-foot center had to undergo surgery to repair the injury, though, which has now prompted the Knicks to apply for a disabled player exception for Robinson.
Jericho Sims has been deputizing in Robinson’s stead, but he too has been listed as out for Saturday’s game due to a sprained right ankle. This leaves Isaiah Hartenstein taking the bulk of the minutes against the Bucks, which could be the case for the foreseeable future.
Giannis Dealing With Foot Injury
It’s not just the Knicks who are dealing with injuries, though. Giannis Antetokounmpo has been listed on the report with a right midfoot sprain, although he is probable to play. This is the same injury that Giannis dealt with on Tuesday, but he was ultimately able to play through it against the Orlando Magic.
MarJon Beauchamp is also listed as probable to play with an elbow injury, while Jae Crowder remains out as he recovers from surgery on his left adductor.
