It’s clear that the Milwaukee Bucks need more than just their star duo of Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard to win the NBA title. They need every person on their roster to do their part if they’re going to take down the best teams in the Eastern Conference and have a shot at the NBA title.
While every player on the Bucks needs to step up their game, it’s hard to find any sort of pressure greater than what Khris Middleton is experiencing. He was a central figure in the Bucks’ 2021 championship run, but injuries have robbed him of the opportunity to become a more consistent contributor to the squad.
Questions surround his health and how it will impact the team, and it’s hard not to blame the fans for being skeptical about his long-term future with the squad. However, the forward provided an encouraging update that will make fans hope a little for their postseason chances.
Khris Middleton will actively contribute to the Milwaukee Bucks’ 2024-25 season as ankles recover from injury
Athlon Sports’ Lance Roberson reported that the team’s third option will be able to play for the Bucks after his successful ankle surgeries:
Middleton will be ready for the 2024-25 season after having two surgeries, one for each ankle. Despite an injury-riddled season, Middleton miraculously averaged a playoff career-high 24 points in the Bucks’ loss to the Pacers. As the Bucks look to maintain a higher seed in the Eastern Conference, the Pacers aim to finish with a top-four record.
The 33-year-old forward had a down year compared to his legendary 2021 Finals run. He finished the 2023-24 campaign with 15.1 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 5.3 assists.
His injuries will continue to make fans question whether he is still the man the Bucks can rely on as a third option, but the team knows he will do everything he could to help them return to the Finals.
